Cary Hashizume, Emergency

Dr. Cary Hashizume received her veterinary medicine degree from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Since graduation, Dr. Hashizume has worked in small animal emergency practice, small animal primary care practice, and has also taught veterinary medicine students at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Given her interest in teaching, Dr. Hashizume completed a Master of Science degree (with a focus on medical education) in 2015.

Dr. Hashizume is an active volunteer with several organizations, including the Alberta Spay Neuter Task Force, Alberta Helping Animals Society, the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association, and the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

When away from work and volunteer activities, Cary enjoys spending time with her husband (a fellow veterinarian), a Shih Tzu named Lexi, and friends and family.
