Dr. Fernanda Mantovani obtained her Veterinary degree from the Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, subsequently taking clinical rotations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The training and exposure to a renowned oncology service inspired her to pursue a specialization in medical oncology.
She acquired American Veterinary Medical Association Certification in 2009, then completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the University of Missouri in 2011. Dr. Mantovani then finished an oncology specialty internship, followed by an oncology residency and Doctor of Veterinary Science program (DVSc) at the Ontario Veterinary College. She became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2016.
Dr. Mantovani practiced medical oncology in the Greater Toronto Area for a decade, with experience running a busy service downtown Toronto and developing the oncology department at a start-up hospital outside of the city. She was captivated by the lifestyle and mild weather of the West Coast, bringing her clinical skills and expertise to Vancouver in 2025. The multi-specialty collaboration and strong client and patient relationships are her favorite aspects of oncology.
