Dr. Caines completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Guelph in 1998. Following that she received a diploma in Animal Health Technology from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2002. After working as a veterinary technician, she enrolled in the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She proceeded to complete a small animal rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009, then stayed on for a residency and Doctor of Veterinary Science degree in anesthesia which she received in 2012. Deanne is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Analgesia.
When not at work, Dr. Caines enjoys running and spending time with her husband and two young boys.
