Dr. Aimee Taylor is a European board-certified specialist in small animal internal medicine with a lifelong passion for feline health and wellbeing. Her clinical career has spanned the UK and Australia, with experience in first opinion practice, referral services, feline shelter medicine, and emergency care.
She completed both her rotating internship and residency at the University of Bristol, one of the few institutions in Europe to offer a feline-biased internal medicine training program. While fully trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases in both cats and dogs, her time at Bristol provided Aimee with additional experience and insight into the unique challenges and joys presented by feline patients.
A proud member of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), Aimee embraces their philosophy that “cats are not small dogs” and values the importance of species-specific care. Her clinical interests include infectious diseases, immune-mediated conditions, gastroenterology and hepatobiliary disease.
Aimee also holds a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Practice. She has published original research in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery on topics such as feline infectious peritonitis and young cat mortality.
Outside of work, Aimee enjoys learning new skills, such as languages and piano, and staying active. A keen traveler, she excited to discover what both Toronto and the wider country have to offer, and is thrilled to be part of the VCA Canada family.
