Dr. Christopher Pinard received his Bachelor of Science Honours (BScH) from the University of Guelph in 2012, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016. He then completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Centre in Toronto, followed by a specialty internship in Oncology Clinical Trials at Colorado State University. Dr. Pinard returned to the Ontario Veterinary College to complete his residency in Medical Oncology in addition to his Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc). Dr. Pinard’s research focus was on immunotherapy and the immunologic landscape of urothelial carcinomas (bladder cancer) in dogs. In 2020, he presented his graduate work at the Veterinary Cancer Society annual conference and was awarded the E. Gregory MacEwan Memorial Award for Outstanding Oral Presentation in Basic Science Research. Dr. Pinard’s professional interests include immunotherapy, combination therapeutics as it pertains to immunotherapy, and developing methods for larger scale translational clinical trials in veterinary medicine.

Outside of work, he enjoys running, travelling, and spending time with his wife and family at their cottage. He also thoroughly enjoys spending time with his cat, Clark.
