Dr. Heinbockel is originally from just outside of Philadelphia - yes she enjoys a good cheesesteak. Taking the leap from cheesesteaks to lobster rolls, she graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island in 2017. After graduation, she completed a rotating small animal internship at the Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury in Long Island. Dr. Heinbockel moved to Ottawa in 2018, and loves the diverse caseload seen at Alta Vista. She gets most excited about wound repairs and working dogs.
In her spare time, Dr. Heinbockel enjoys hiking (working on her Adirondack 46) and training/competing in dog sports (IGP, Scent Detection) with her Belgian Shepherds Grimm and Munich.
