Sylvia joined VCA with more than 20 years of operations, management, client services, sales and strategy experience.

Most recently, she spent two years overseeing all aspects of operations for three fast-paced general practice veterinary clinics in Vancouver. Prior to that, she spent eight years focused on private human medicine, specifically in MRI/CT and functional/integrative medicine.

Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, where she majored in marketing and minored in sociology.

In 2007, she created a charitable fund in honour of her grandparents Margaret and Cyril. Held at The Calgary Foundation, it supports the elderly, and the care and protection of animals in Canada.

Her greatest passion in life is animals - big, small, furry, feathered, scaly. She rescues retired racing greyhounds, currently sharing her home with Aurora Borealis and Lucca, who bring her immense joy.

Outside of work, Sylvia is an accomplished photographer who enjoys nature, reading, travel and ongoing learning.
